Title: looking for a Freelancer to solve massive problems in our jd installation
Post by: carin on 17.04.2015 13:33:51
problems to solve:
- here nobody is able to understand how the rights management work (yes, we read the docs) ... some user are able to download files others are not dspite they are all in the same groups
- with the update to .25 all downloads (+3000) are checked as "archived"
- unexpected messages on clicking on the download button like "Sie verfügen leider nicht über die Berechtigung zum Download dieser Datei." or "The page isn't redirecting properly"

We cant afford to waste any more time with that trial and error approach. If anybody out there feels like being able to solve that please let me know what budget is necessary, thanks.

Carin
Think I could assist with your first item.  In order to evaluate I would need a description of what user groups are to be allowed to do what.  Also would need admin access to your present site. It would need to be done on a test site of course..  Maybe you could PM me some info.

Hi,
sorry for the delay but i was a few weeks in holiday.
Are the described problems solved in the meantime?

Point 2:
I have not understand what you mean with 'archived' in this case.
Point 1+3:
Quote- unexpected messages on clicking on the download button like "Sie verfügen leider nicht über die Berechtigung zum Download dieser Datei." or "The page isn't redirecting properly"
This could be the result from older jD versions which had still a few bugs in the permission handling. Also possible that here are missing datasets in the _assets table from Joomla.
But i think this could be solved with the ACL manager (free version).

I have started helping Carin but she has gone quiet!  Pretty sure I know the problem, just need to better understand the target scheme.
