Title: FTP files not added as new data in the Category and Download DB tables[Solved]
Post by: Ta on 06.02.2015 10:13:49
Greetings

I have the latest jdownloads component, with lots of files to FTP in batches, less than 200 files each time as recommended set the monitoring function off in the configuration. Then run the monitoring functionality for every category individually in the categories list after each transfer.

Now it seems that the files are no longer added as new data records in the Category and Download tables. how else can I have these files added to the database..? except uploading them manually on the front end (initially it worked well, however at some point the remaining transferred files are in the root directory but not recorded in the database)

Hi
This is very strange.  Note the monitoring can take quite some time, so one has to be patient. Have you looked to see if the files are present and in the correct directory?  Are you on a cPanel server?  If you load up say eXtplorer that is another way of looking at the server files and directories.  It will also show the file system permissions  so you can check those.

Oh yes for some odd reason some of the files are missing on the server but recorded on the database as uncategorised files..the jd control panel status shows a warning about these bogus files as missing instead of newly added files..the monitoring function aborts the process immediately once this happens. To solve it I had to look for the uncategorised files on the dB n delete those data records...n it works ok..... Perhaps to prevent this altogether from happening  I need to find out why these missing files r on the DB records but not physically stored on server..thanks a lot

Plz flag this topic as solved
