Title: Moving downloads to new category issue
Post by: tdewitt on 30.01.2015 03:35:01
I moved a bunch of downloads to a new category and now there are two issues:
1. The downloads in the original category are still there and all of the titles have been replaced with the filename instead of the edited title.
2. The category counts are not accurate.

Help. Did I do something wrong?  I selected "MOVE" when I changed the file categories.

Hi
Presume you used the Batch Function to move. Is that correct?
how many sub-cats and downloads were there in the category you were moving?  Did it have many large files?

Have you tried the Rebuild function?

I moved 31 files using the batch function and made sure to select "Move"  I had zero sub cats, I only moved 31 downloads from one category to another.

The front end view still does not have the correct file count even after performing a rebuild on each individual category.

The original cat still has the downloads I moved and the titles were changed back to the file name.

The cat were i moved the downloads to show up there correctly but the cat count is still off.

Hi
I checked the batch move function out and it was fine, even tested deliberate mistakes of
(i)moving to itself which caused a batch lock, need clearing with tools

(ii)not specifying target which gave a suitable message.

Is your site on a cPanel set up? Are file permissions ok?

Important could also be the results message at the end from the batch process.  ;)
