First post! Firstly, cheers Arno for an awesome component! I have recently updated our website to Joomla 3 from Joomla 2.5 and have been trying to get the Imagick php auto thumbnail creation section working. I have worked with my webhost to get the module installed and correctly operational, which it now is as it is working under Joomla 2.5 with the previous version of JDownload. Under Joomla 3, with the latest 3.2.18 beta it shows Imagick as being installed in the config section but when a PDF is uploaded, the image is not created and all that is created is a broken img link.

Have you checked whether the new created pic from the pdf file exist in: JOOMLA_ROOT/images/jdownloads/screenshots/ ?

Hi Arno & Colin,
Many thanks for getting back to me over this one - I have checked in the screenshots folder Arno and there is no image being created by Imagick. This is strange as under J2.5 it seems to be working A-Ok! Any other ideas??

This may be site specific! I set up a new test site and all was well. The pics below tell the story of my test. Imagick had been installed previously by my web site host company. And regrettably I do not know how to test it independently. Maybe you could PM Arno with site admin details to see if he can spot the problem.

Thanks Colin for your test but you must select as main file a pdf.
Also must be activated in the 'Pictures' TAB from configuration the 'Create Thumbnails from PDF files?' option.
Then is tried to create a thumbnail and image from the first pdf page.

@ Colin,
Many thanks for the documentation - I have checked against the settings I have applied. I assume selecting GIF or JPEG shouldn't make a huge difference in terms of the module working or not?

Can you try it again but with actvated Joomla debug option?

Yes, it is the same version of Imagick as it is the same webhost and within the same domain.
I will enable the debugging option.

It's working from the frontend now! Will try recreating PDF images in the backend, but even if I have to upload all files individually to make this work, that'll be fine!
