Title: Backup does not save/restore User Group Rankings [Not a Bug]
Post by: ColinM on 09.08.2014 21:11:11
The backup needs to be extended to include saving/restoring the User Group Ranking values.  Tested both with and without option to include user group settings. Looks like the Backup is OK but the result stored is not correct.

Arno
I should explain the circumstances a bit better. The process was part of seeing how to transfer from Joomla 2.5.24 to Joomla 3.3.3
If I take a backup in say j32 series, change some user group rankings, restore in the j32 backup then yes the user group rankings are restored OK. :)
However if I take a backup in j25 and restore to j32 then the rankings are not restored to those that were in the j25 setup. :(
The method I was trying was to Uninstall jDownloads, delete existing jDownloads  directories and database entries.
Then re-install jDownloads, overwrite directories and restore to setup database tables.  This worked for everything except the User Group setup. The reason for this is probably because the User Group IDs in j32 were not same as in j25.  :(

Will investigate new sequence where database entries copied manually between versions.

Yes, i think this is so. But what can be here a solution? It can also be, that a user will restore a j32 backup file on another j32 installation (with other user groups structure). Not really useful but possible.  ::) ::)
