Title: Content-Plugin?
Post by: nru on 26.06.2014 15:59:20
Hi,

I just updated successful from 1.9 to 3.2. But now I'm looking for the content plugin. But didn't found anything for 3.2 in the joomla 3.2 download category.
Or could I use v 3.1.2 http://www.jdownloads.com/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&Itemid=133&view=viewdownload&catid=45&cid=328. But this seems to be a 1.9 only version.

Found this:

QuoteYou can only use modules or plugins that are compatible with this new jDownloads version. You will be able to find them as they become available in the corresponding download categories. These new modified jDownloads 3.2 series extensions will be published one at a time over the next few weeks.

???

PS: I've installed jDownloads Version 3.2.7 Beta and need the Content Plugin ;)

Hi
I do not thik that the Content Plugin has been upgraded yet.  It is on th to do list. But first it is essential that the Component is stable - there are still some bugs outstanding.

hi there!

I desperately need the content plugin and also the editor-xtd button for j 3.2 / 3.3 for a client's website. I really don't want to move to an other download component. How much would it be to speed up the developement?
Serious question? and how long would it take?

greetings
chris

Hi everybody.
I didn't receive any answer on my question, so I asked a friend of mine to help me out on this issue.
He managed to update / upgrade the content plugin to work with the latest version of jdownloads and now we want to give the result back to the community. I'm not a developer and I therefor don't know all the details. I just see that the plugin works.
So there still remains a request to the developers: Please look through the whole thing and check if there is something to change and adapt to make sure everything will work also along with the continuing progress of jdownloads.
Thanks
Chris

Addition: I'm in the process of testing the plugin right now and already found something that does not work:
Only files in "uncategorized" are displayed, others create a sql error.
So consider this as "quick shot" and starting point.

Ok I finally managed to give it a closer look.

What I found:
* Some languages strings don't work:

COM_JDOWNLOADS_FE_DETAILS_LINK_TEXT_TO_DETAILS {file_name_title} {file_name} {release_title}
COM_JDOWNLOADS_FRONTEND_VERSION_TITLE
COM_JDOWNLOADS_FE_FILELIST_PRICE_TITLE
COM_JDOWNLOADS_FE_FILELIST_LICENSE_TITLE
COM_JDOWNLOADS_FE_FILELIST_LANGUAGE_TITLE
COM_JDOWNLOADS_FE_FILELIST_FILESIZE_TITLE
COM_JDOWNLOADS_FE_FILELIST_SYSTEM_TITLE
COM_JDOWNLOADS_FE_FILELIST_AUTHOR_TITLE
COM_JDOWNLOADS_FE_FILELIST_AUTHOR_URL_TITLE
COM_JDOWNLOADS_FE_FILELIST_CREATED_DATE_TITLE
COM_JDOWNLOADS_FE_FILELIST_HITS_TITLE
COM_JDOWNLOADS_FE_FILELIST_CREATED_BY_TITLE
COM_JDOWNLOADS_FE_FILELIST_MODIFIED_BY_TITLE
COM_JDOWNLOADS_FE_FILELIST_MODIFIED_DATE_TITLE

That is a little odd because they seem to work in other parts of the component.
* Also the "{url_download}" gives
...option=com_jdownloads&view=finish&cid=1&catid=2&lang=de
although there is no view with the name "finish" -> 404.
But the  "{link_to_details}" is working, leading to the detail page and then I can download the file. (I rather prefer the direct download option, but though it is set to yes the plugin seems to ignore it.)

So far so good / bad.
Does it help (and speed things up) if I post such observations here?
As mentioned above I really need this thing working..

Thanks
Chris

Hi,
thanks for your results.
Please note that the new jD series is not full compatible to the older 1.9x series.
So we need to change many things more as only the small modifications from your coder.

But before must we get a first stable release from the newer series. After this i will reworks also the content plugin.
