Title: Automatically added categories are all in root - Fixed in 3.2.7 !!!
Post by: carin on 04.06.2014 02:47:28
reproduce:
* add a category in the backend
* upload folders and subfolders into this category folder via ftp
* go to the backend category table

expected:
* the new folders are automatically added as subcategories to the previously added category
* all are published
* the folder in the category's directory tooltip is correct (it points to the folder on the server)

current:
* all new categories are added to the root as top categories, even subfolders are now top categories
* some are published others are not
* the folder in the directory tooltip is not correct (it points to the root folder but there is no such folder)

Hi,
excuse me, but you seem to have a mis-configuration.
- please check the configuration settings for the upload root folder (TAB Downloads)
- useful can here be the result message from the auto monitoring in control panel
- perhaps is this also a result from the prior posted bugs.

But i will test it here again.

Sorry. It seems that your results are correctly.  I understand this not really.
Then i know that i have very extensive tested the scan functions. But it seems now, not extensive enough or ot with with many new levels in a single step.
So i am not happy about this new problem.

Sad to say. But I can not fix this problem with the today coming next beta.
Need a few days for it.  :-\

I have here a different result (only new sub folders are added as new root categories).

Great, thanks so much, will be looking forward to the update. I am testing 3.2 version as 1.9.2 version is not working for me since I have over 2000 subcategories for approximately 15000 files and site is really slow.

Hello, thank you for the update, I installed the update but automatic monitoring is still not functioning properly. I created one folder via ftp and when I ran the monitor function it added the category but at same time it renamed the folder by adding 1 at the end. do you know what could be wrong?

thanks,

- have you installed the beta 3.2.7 version?
- can it be that it exist already a other folder with the same name (but without the '1') ?

What are your settings in the jD configuration page 'Folder and Files' ? Please post here a pic.
What for a language use you for your folder name or what exactly was the name from your folder?

When i try it here, i get a category with name: wedding and the folder is also: wedding. Not renamed as wedding1.
So i understand not how you can get it.

Ok I tried again this is what happened.

1. Created a folder in Jdownloads folder with the name "English"
2. Went to Jdownloads control Panel.
3. clicked on "Checked download area"
4. System added the category "English" but at same time changed the directory name to "English1" and put the alias as "English1" and directory as "English1". see attached image.

So it seems like when system adds the category it is renaming it.

Okay, i must confirm this problem.

But only when:
a) you have created a new folder, who has a capital letter in the first position
and
b) you do it in a windows system

I have now fixed also this issue in the next beta 3.2.8.
