Today we are launching a public beta phase for the first Joomla 6 compatible release 4.1.
All interested users are requested to test the version intensively.
However, please note the following information
1) Key improvements in this version
Improved stability in the central views and processes.
Optimisations in layout output and display (especially in list/grid areas).
Revisions to language keys and localisation (improved consistency of texts, cleaning up language files and removing language keys that are no longer needed).
General bug fixes from previous test runs.
Key Improvements:
✅ Modern HTML5 (backend) upload system (replaces Plupload)
✅ Redesigned scan function for large directories
✅ New, modern layouts for each view type (more to follow)
✅ Joomla 6 + PHP 8.4/8.5 compatible
2) Known issues / points under observation
SEF URLs: Inconsistencies are still possible in certain constellations (routing/redirects/unusual URL patterns).
Please report specific examples with URL + context.
Minor display deviations depending on the template/module position cannot be ruled out.
Caching may delay the display of changes in individual cases (please specify the cache status if you notice any anomalies).
3) What we want to test specifically in this round
Larger amounts of data: please also test with extensive categories/file lists (performance, loading times, pagination, filters).
Multilingualism: check language changes, translations, fallbacks and consistent output in all relevant views.
Permissions/user groups: double-check visibility and access in everyday use.
Real usage scenarios instead of just short tests (several click paths in succession).
Please report feedback as follows:
What was done?
What was expected?
What actually happened?
If possible: URL, language, user group, short screenshot.
Note
This version is still in beta. Do not install this version on productive websites, but only in test environments prepared for this purpose.
Please report errors directly here in the topic so that we can respond quickly.
Thank you for your support – your feedback directly helps with the final stabilisation.
