Title: Handling external interactive content links in jdownloads?
Post by: benjamin77 on 31.12.2025 18:39:53
Hi everyone,

I'm using JDownloads on a Joomla site and had a quick question around linking external interactive content. While testing a simple browser-based project like the spell game, I noticed that when similar external tools are listed or referenced through JDownloads, there can be some UX and tracking limitations.

For example, I'm unsure about the best way to handle click tracking for external links, whether opening them in a new window is preferred for usability, and how others manage descriptions or previews so users clearly understand they're leaving the site. I'm also curious if anyone has run into permission or security-related concerns when mixing downloadable resources with external interactive links.

How are others handling this setup with jdownloads while keeping things clean and user-friendly?

Thanks in advance for any advice or real-world experience.

Hi,
Unfortunately, I don't really understand what you mean.
A detailed description of your website and your jDownloads content might help.
A link (via PM) would also be helpful.
