Title: Requesting file icon for .dmg files
Post by: fstltna on 10.01.2024 22:25:21
I run several Mac oriented servers and get a lot of .dmg files for download. Can we get a .dmg file icon please?

Hi
There are already .DMG symbols availablein image set flat_1 and flat_2

See the docmentation
https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/options-configuration-v3-9/pictures-and-buttons-options
In particular the 'Files symbols' section

Basically in jD Options - Pictures and Buttons tab select either Modern Icon Set 1 or Modern Icon Set 2

Hi
Select Modern Icon Set 2
jD uses the file extension in the downloadable file to select the relevant icon which is a .png file

As a check the actual images are stored in
Your-site/images/jdownloads/fileimages  for the original icon images
Your-site/images/jdownloads/fileimages/flat_1  for modern set 1
Your-site/images/jdownloads/fileimages/flat_2  for modern set 2

I tried the modern 2 set, but .dmg files still get the unknown icon...

Hi
I am using Joomla 4.4.1 and jD 4.0.38
As you can see from the image the DMG symbol is shown
The uploaded file in the Download must have the extension .dmg

Hi
I am not a Mac user! So I searched a little on the web
See https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1119651?sortBy=best

As a dmg type is a disk image file I suspect that mac devices treat such files in a special manner.

Maybe you should enclose them in a zip with appropriate instructions in the dsecription.
