Hi,
After I updated my site to latest joomla 5.x, I added file using FTP to publish (i have been doing this way all the while without any problem).
However, I see two things.
First, the download section has different mod_xxxxx on the right hand side (see attachment1) and
second, after it shows new file, when I click on 'make this change permanent', it gives me 500 error.
Can you please tell me what should I do?
Thanks in advance,
Hi,
sorry for the delay but I am ill since weeks.
Which jDownloads and PHP version do you have installed?
I have Jdownloads 4.0.36 Stable version and php 8.2
Any updates?
Hi
Arno is still unwell.
First the Download section has not changed but Joomla has set some new rules about translations, which essentially is that they may no longer include
or similar. This was changed in the last Joomla 4 version. Will see if I can fix it.
The 500 error is something wrong with your server setup for Joomla 5. This is often the .htaccess file setup. The general advice with 500 errors is to contact your hosting company.

Can I uninstall and then re-install the Jdownload component without losing any information?
Hi
When you uninstall jD (select jDownloads Component) it asks if you wish to delete the database, the files and the images. Ensure all are set to No before clicking on the Uninstall Button.
See
https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/getting-started-v3-9/how-to-uninstall-all-of-jdownloads-jd39 for more details.

Both errors should be fixed with version 4.0.38 at the latest.
Was published last night.
Note:
The user reported to me a few days ago that he was still receiving an error 500. After checking his installation, however, I realised that these errors were caused by older Joomla 5 incompatible plugins. after deactivating these old plugins, the function worked again without errors.
