Title: Unable to save categories in backend JD 4.0.9
Post by: Gratia-Mira on 24.12.2022 23:34:51
Hi Arno, hi Colin

Thank you for the great work!
The bug is on my website as well as on the test site of JDwonloads (/jd40.jdownloads.org).

Unfortunately with version 4.0.9 you can't save the categories in the backend.
Steps to reproduce.
1. open backend
2. open category
3. save and close category

The error is:
Undefined constant "JDownloads\Component\JDownloads\Site\Helper\RouteHelper"

Happy Christmas and New Year to you too!
Christoph

Hi all,

I uninstall / remove all of the old jDownloads beta version for joomla4
I install the latest version (4.0.9)

I try to reproduce this error

1. open backend
2. open category
3. i use te NEW buttom to make a new catagory in jDownloads: Add Category
4. i use the save button and after that the close button (2 buttons)
5. i see the new category is saved and the Total Number of listed Categories: is comming up with one.

For me all works fine and there is no error.

I also try it again but now i use the save&exit button ( 1 button) and also that works fine for me, no error also.

Maybe in your Joomla there left some old files of the old jDownloads, look for it and uninstall all of it, then install te latest version again and try it again.

Greetings

Fred
Title: Re: Unable to save categories in backend JD 4.0.9 - [Fixed in 4.0.10]

Hi Christoph,
Hi Fred,
both results are correct.  :)

The error occurs only when the Smart Search (finder) plugins from jDownloads are enabled and the new category content shall be indexed from this Joomla component.  ;)

Should then be fixed in next version 4.0.10. Thanks for the help!

You can try the attached unzipped file.
Copy it to this folder: /plugins/finder/folder
