Hi Arno,
Trying to get jDownloads 4 to work and am getting multiple errors.
1. Created a menu item:
https://developer.catholicsforisrael.com/bible-course/handouts?view=categories
But navigating to it produces this:
count(): Argument #1 ($value) must be of type Countable|array, bool given
2. Navigating to any page that has jDownloads links (such as {jd_file file==31}) produces 404 errors:
https://developer.catholicsforisrael.com/bible-course/part-i
3. Trying to assign a file to a download produces:
"Save failed with the following error: Column 'publish_down' cannot be null"
Hi,
I see from your photos that you are using jDownloads on a multilingual website.
I have pointed out several times that the support for Joomla multilingualism in the frontend is not yet completely finished.
Nevertheless, several users are trying to use the beta version on precisely such websites. Unfortunately, this does not help me, but only keeps me from working (through increased and superfluous error messages here in the forum).
I therefore ask you once again to test the current beta version only on websites that are either not multilingual, or at least to test multilingualism only in the backend. It should already work there. But not the frontend! Thank you!
Nevertheless, thank you for the reports. I will get back to you next week. :-\
Ok thanks. Sorry, that's the only website I have. I wasn't using any multilingual features but just trying to open the main pages in English. I didn't realize that they wouldn't work at all, even in English.
QuoteI didn't realize that they wouldn't work at all, even in English.
It can be that this has also other reasons. We will see what happend here.
But I need more time, we have some error messages in the meantime.
Edit:
by the way, you can test it in english when you deactivate the multilanguage option in Joomla settings. Then it should be possible,
Okay, thanks.
FYI, I tried disabling the language plugins but it didn't make any difference. All pages that have jDownloads links still produce 404 "page not found" errors.
For example:
https://developer.catholicsforisrael.com/bible-course/part-ii
Sad to say but the example link alone is not helpful.
What I see is that you are using FaLang, but also the Joomla multilanguage options. Because in the background the 'associations' program parts are also loaded.
And because these jDownloads programme parts are not yet ready in the frontend, they receive the error messages. So please wait for the completion of these parts. ;)
Hi
It would help if you advised if you upgraded from jD3.9.8.6 or a fresh install of jD beta4.
Also, which beta 4 version of jD and what version of PHP please.
Thanks
Colin
Hi Colin,
jDownloads was upgraded from 3.9.
It was an earlier beta version. My developer is about to install the latest beta version and check if it's working better.
PHP 8.0.
Thanks to you,
Andre
Okay. But he should wait on 4.0.5 version. Comes tonight.
Or at least update to this version.
