Title: Mediaplyer
Post by: Sven SA on 24.06.2021 16:03:01

We changed our concept a bit and introduced a different group administration.

Here we now have another problem:
For this group we can switch off the download function (button) That is good

However, our jdownload mediaplayer has 3 points on the right and a download function associated with it.

In all picture examples on the web etc. the media player is always without these 3 points and download function.
We need that.
Do we have an old one? Can we exchange it? Is there an alternative? Can you adjust the display?

Please please an answer
Merci and best regards
Sven

Sven,
I presume you got over the update to 3.9. Is that correct?
Your remaining 'challenge' is with the media player.
In jD Options (Top right on jD Control Panel) if you go to the MediaPlayer tab, have you selected HTML or FlowPlayer?
Also it might help if you look athttps://www.jdownloads.net/documentation-for-v3-9/options-configuration-v3-9/mediaplayer-options
Note most browsers now have the ability to Download audio and video files so we recommend that only a preview file is shown.

Hello Collin,

thanks for answering.

Yes the upgrade was carried out. Unfortunately now the database broke by install.

I have to let a company work on it because I don't know how to fix it. Since the upgrade, all admin users have had errors in the frontend login. And JComment only works for downloads before the upgrade. New downloads can no longer be rated. An error message followed. An installation of Komento worked and there was no error message, but migration of the existing JComments data is not possible and nobody can send a comment that has been written so that it is saved. Therefore I have no comment function until the database repair.

Regardless, there is a problem with the player. I chose the HTML Player because it was always used up to now. In the case of the Flow Player, I am asked directly for an update and I will certainly not be the only one who would have to first see that the player works again. Accordingly, HTML is a better choice. Video files are not required for me. The problem is the user rights. I can let a user group without download rights see the comments. The download button is then also gone for this group. However, the player has 3 points and above that it can also download. Unfortunately, the download always works via the 3 points in the player, no matter what rights the user has. I think this is not an error in my defective database but was not considered in the player. LG Sven

SvenOh Dear - I misunderstood.  I thought that if you were concerned about the media player that the update had been sorted - but I did ask that.
In the documentation it does tell you how to revert back to jD3.2  seehttps://www.jdownloads.net/documentation-for-v3-9/getting-started-v3-9/reverting-back-to-jd3-2
If it is just a case of the User Gropu settings I might be able to resolve that
I will send you a PM (Private Message)
