Hello, I noticed that jdownloads does not work if the server is behind a restrictive firewall that allows connections only to trusted servers. Apparently, if one try to open the control panel or any other part of the component, it tries to contact www.jdownloads. com and fails with a timeout.
It looks like that the whole joomla installation is slowed down if www.jdownloads.com can't be reached, even if no attempt is made to use the controls in the administration site.
It looks an odd behaviour, not only for security reasons, but also because basic things, like uninstalling the component, can be done properly only if www.jdownloads.com can be reached.
Is it possible to disable this "feature"
Thank you,
Hi
Which version of jD are you using?
Are you sure it is when trying to link to www.jdownloads.com?Is it your firewall? - if so you need to put jD in the 'white list' but I am not a 'sedurity expert!!
There was a problem with linking to
https://www.jdownloads.net/ but nothing to do with a restrictive firewall

Hi,
maybe has also this to do with the help-url check function?
We will try to check it. You are sure that the extension need an connection to www.jdownloads.com? Not to www.jdownloads.net?
What is the result when you add www.jdownloads.com to the trusted servers?
