Hello,
After installation and testing there were many log file entries.
I deleted those so the log view was empty. But now logging doesn't work anymore alltogether. (Logging is enabled and not limited).
Problem is that my User limits also don't work anymore. How can I solve this?
Hi arco,
your version is still 3.2 correct?
Have you read the instructions in the documentation?
http://www.jdownloads.net/documentation-for-jd3-2/access-controls-user-group-permissions-v3-2/introduction-to-user-group-settings
Please note that you need the logs items when you want to use limitation options. So you should at first restore a backup to get it back.
How have you removed the logs data?
Hi,
After I deleted the logfile entries, the logging stopped.
I understand that user limitations don't work until new logs are added.
But if I do downloads, the logfile stays empty??? I tried restoring backup with no succes.
Why is the logging stopped alltogether after deleting the existing entries?

Have you check that it is really activated in configuration?
Activate log functions for download: Yes...
I have it just tested. It works fine and I cannot see any problems:
- I have deleted all stored logs with the jDownloads delete function.
- then downloaded again a file
- as expected is this action stored again in the database
So I cannot reproduce here this problem.
Maybe should you contact your hoster for a backup restoration.
I just checked all items in the Log window, and used the "Delete" key to delete them
Site is just installed, so there is no backup yet. Guess I have to install again. >:(
Ichanged user download limit from unlimited to 4.
Because the user already downloaded 7 files I got the surrealistic message: "Number of files daily: 4 remaining: -3"
So I deleted the logs to get rid of that...
Can't I 'reset' the logging somehow, or see somewhere why it fails?
Done restore of yesterday, still log isn't working (while it certainly worked yesterday)
Where can I see what is going wrong?
(or can I delete something in the database to make it work again?)
There was no way to get things working again, I suppose deleting all logs corrupted something in the database.
Even a new install of jDownloads or an old site backup couldn't make log work again.
I'm now re-installing joomla (2 days down the drain... >:( )
Hi Arco,
excuse me but I cannot understand your problems. Maybe was your first installation not correct? Nobody else has reported in the last years about a problem like yours. So for me can (at this moment) the reason not really be a bug in jDownloads. But you have only given few information given about what you have done exactly and what was the state from your Joomla installation.
QuoteBecause the user already downloaded 7 files I got the surrealistic message: "Number of files daily: 4 remaining: -3"
This should be now corrected in the next version. In this case is in the future only displayed: "remaining: 0".
