Hi there,

I'm new to jDownloads and to this board and as my English is not the very best it's a bit difficult for me to search for a solution that is maybe already given here in the board. So a little hint, where to look for it is also appreciated.

My problem which looks like a bug:
I built a structure within jDownloads containing some categories with subcategories. While the listings of downloads of the subcategories of the second category show the "Choose all" checkbox at the top and the "Continue"-Button at the bottom of the listings, the listings of the subcategories of the first category do not. The checkbox at every single download is shown.

Category one and two are on the same level as seen below.

   ---> Sub 1.2
   ---> Sub 1.3
Category 2

   ---> Sub 2.1
   ---> Sub 2.2
   ---> Sub 2.3

Is it possible that this behaviour can happen when downloads are duplicates of other downloads within jDownload?

In this context:
It would be a very nice feature to "tell" a download it belongs to more than one category. This would be very very time-saving because one would not have to create double downloads. Or is there a solution within jDownloads I did not detect until now?

My problem is, that for a maximum comfort for the users I need the downloads (PDFs) be categorized by their document category but also categorized by the product they belong to. Currently I only can realize this by creating two downloads for every file to have one for every (sub-)category. Or is that wrong?

I will try to explain a little.A Download consists of a variety of database entries such as title, description and other information together with a 'file reference'.  There may also be previews and image files associated with a Download but these files are not downloadable.
The 'file reference'  can be to a

   
• a file directly associated with the Download;
• a reference to a file in another Download;
• a reference to a file on an external site;
• or to no file at all.

It is assumed that it is the downloadable files that take most space, hence the abilty to reference the same file in several Downloads.  But each Download can only reference a single downloadable file.
Further a Download can only belong to a single Category or sub cat at any depth.  It is just like a regular tree structured file system where a file is in a directory.  Thus you can have the same name (title) for a Download in different categories.
You are obviously using a jD Layout that shows Checkboxes.  This should show a "Select All" at the top, individual check boxes and a Continue at the bottom in all cases.  But if you you have more Downloads then are shown on the page (set in Config- Frontend tab - entry 'Number of Enries per Download page" then the Select all only applies to those shown.  You can use the page navigation to select the next page load.
A way of cross referencing is to use Tags.
So in your case you might want to use the 'file is in another Download' facility and use the Select in the Files Tab - see pic.

However I am a little puzzled that when viewing that the Select all and continue do not appear.  Are you able to get some screen sots?
