Title: FTP upload doesn't show in frontend
Post by: DSC on 08.03.2019 11:36:35
Download Version 3.2.64; joomla 3.9.3 stable; PHP 7.2.15; MySql 5.560
: If we upload a pdf-file via ftp, it doesn't show automatically in frontend.

This happens although you can see the file in the backend list as excisting. It also appears in frontend immediately when you open the backend components list.

Hi
If you just upload a file using ftp into an existing category then jD does not know that the file exists!  The File must be included ion a Dowload which consists of at least an entry ina databate and having the Download published complete with Access level, Permissions and so on.An uploded file can readily be included into a Download by running the monotoring either manually or automatically.
This is not a bug but an expected behaviour.  A Download may have many optional things associated with it, incuding images, descriptions and so on.  jD is not just a simple file manager!

So not a bug!  Maybe looking at the documentation would clarify matters there are some articles on bulk upload and creating a 'Cron Job' to automatically scan for new files and directories on a periodic basis
