Yesterday at around midnight I used my Android based phone and downloaded Signore, Vero Corpo  without any difficulty.
The PDF 'front' was the one you described

red backgroun and the letters "PDF" appears on the left corner

.
So basically I cannot reproduce your problem.
But I will try again today.

Could be a cookie problem? Sometimes i can read that is a problem that came from enable\disable cookie.

I patch my web and it doesn´t work. I explain what i´ve been testing:

  - I put this type of link in my web:
         index.php?option=com_jdownloads&task=download.send&id=940&catid=37&m=0

      and i ´ve got a message with googledrive that says:
                "no se puede mostrar pdf ( El formato index.php no es valido)"

  - I put a file that everybody can download and it works properly but i change the file permission to "registered", problems appear.

- I patched the web to 3.6.2 from 3.4.0 and the error is there.

- i don´t know why this access are generating in my apache:

in the first request the file is got by the browser but it is generated a second request by google drive and it´s when the file is not gotten and it is generated a unended loop.

Arno where are you? I´m looking for your access and the problem is that maybe midnight is not my midnight. Are you in England? I found an access from England.






  User can download a file but without using google drive.

I´ve been trying. I think it a problem with the session. the session is not manage properly by google drive. if i change the file permission to public, it works properly.


it could be? Why is it not shown another message as user has not permission to get the file?

When there is a session problem, it is response with a 303 and a this kind of redirect:

Good research.  The http: 303 error is an interesting one.  It should I think have been handled by the browser. That is perhaps why I had no problems with some browser but problem with others that just did not want to know. This is not something I would expect jD to handle as effectively jD has said "over to you Mr Browser" when the Download file is located remotely.

Personally I use Firefox on Android and else where as it dopes not assume I will use everything by Google!
Apologies for the reference to "interesting" - it is an English colloquial expression meaning strange, unusual and rare.
