3.9 update problem with layout and categories

I've the same problem, after update, from 3.2.latest to 3.9.7.2, I have an error message on my control panel...
seem that anyone of the category that I have on the site was not valid (i can see the category on the control panel, I can see the folders on the filesystem)
and on the frontend I have the message: "No valid layout found for Categories!"
tryng to clean evething (this is a staging clone) and recreating one folder I have the same problem...
Also using the "install example data on the tools, on the frontend we have every tie the same message...

There is something to check??

Hi.
it seems that you have only a problem with missing layouts.
When the layout type 'category' not exist nothing will be viewed.

Please check the layout site on the pic.

Ouch.... yes is right..... now I must clone re-clone the site to check the update....

Attached is the described default layout as zip file. You can import the unzipped .xml file easy in jD for a test.
