News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Issue
The layout - Standard Categories Layout for paginated Subcategories 3.2 is available as a normal layout and can be edited and broken by users but you cannot copy it and use it like a normal template because it is designed for when pagination is enabled.

solution
either add pagination in to all templates and remove this template or make it so when we copy it we can configure in options what tempalte to use for when pagination is enabled.

my preferred option is to add pagination to all templates.

thanks

Hi
As I mentioned in an earlier reply paginated Sub-category layouts are a special case.  In due course I anticipate them being in their own section.
One can edit these sub categories in the normal way by making a copy and so on.
However for 'historic' reasons the way to activate a sub-category layout is to ensure that the field 'Use for Subcategories?' is set to Yes and that all the other paginated sub cats have the field 'Use for Subcategories?' set to No.

Comments on this structure would not be helpful at this time!!!! :( :(
