Use JDownloads instead of Docman?

I wonder if you can replace and use JDownload instead of Docman? Like a document management system for Joomla?

why not? But i knows nothing about the current Docman extension.

jDownloads has many more features than Docman, and of course it is free.  The only item I am aware of that is not currently supported in jD that is in Docman is the private files on a per user basis.  Look at the jD feature sites to see what some people have done.
