When you have more than 1 page, the navigation buttons are not displaying correctly at the top or bottom.

The way the navigation buttons are displayed  depends on two aspects:  the jDownloads Layout in use; and the Joomla template you are using.  It is essentially a css problem.
For example using one of the standard Joomla templates the Nav buttons are shown at the top and bottom as illustrated in the attached.
It would be helpful if you gave details of your site setup, which level of html and css you are using.
Also if you should care to advise your site, by PM if confidential, then I will try to find time to take a look  -

I am not normally sarcastic but really your earlier post does not help when we are all volunteers - we are doing this as a community minded thing, not for money.  Would you like me to remove your other posting?

Colin, first allow me to apologize for my previous post.  I was frustrated and should not have posted it.  I am prepping my site for the 3.x upgrade and was researching a bunch of my components to make sure I was good to go with compatibility.  Upon reading the site and seeing that this version was the one to use if you were starting a site today, I installed it.  Needless to say, I was expecting one thing and that was unrealistic.  I appreciate all of the hard work that is put into this and every other component that I use.

In the previous version, my buttons displayed perfectly, which is why I reported it as a bug.  While I am very techy, I do not know much about the inner workings of Joomla, et al.  I have learned by trial and error.

For PHP, i just updated to 5.6.2 to be in compliance with corporate security.  I don't know where to find the version of CSS.  I am using the JSN EpicPro template which I have been using since the day the site went live.

I will PM you information

Thanks

I have looked at your site.  The navigation display you get depends on the size of the browser window, this is because you have a nice fluid template.  One of the nice features is that it sizes the text proportional to the screen size.

The navigation display is controlled in jDownloads by the active the Files Layout in the subheader section.  In your case this is layout "Standard Files Layout without Checkboxes v2.5". I made a copy of this called "Standard Files Layout without Checkboxes v2.5 (2)" and experimented with some CSS but presently to no avail.

One of our outstanding tasks after we have stable versions is to re-look at the Layouts.  In the meantime I will see if I can tweek the css in the layouts so that the space allowed is changeable.  It is presently set as 60% of the width to the title and 40% to the nav bar.  For some reason I could not change that !! ???

Thank you so much for checking out my site Colin.  I did not know that about my template and that explains it.

Appreciate all of the efforts.

Have a great weekend

I had time to look again and have now sorted out  better.  There are two new layouts which are started from copies of the original standard layouts
In Category Layouts:  Standard Category Layout v2.5 (2)    changed Footer
In  Files Layout:      Standard Files Layout without Checkboxes v2.5 (2)  changed Subheading Layout

The files layout one may go a bit  different if you have a very very long category name because I have left it with an auto size.  But most unlikely.
Please see pics below which show before and after in Footer area
