Downloads and Categories show empty pages
« on: 24.09.2014 16:55:26 »
Hi Guys,

we just found out, that we're having a problem with our JDownloads: If we want to upload a new file via backend and click "Downloads" in the menu, an empty page appears. The same happens, by clicking the categories name (see screenshots). I updated from 1.9.1 to 1.9.1.6 around an hour ago but this didn't solve the problem :(

Our Joomla version is 2.5.25
JDownloads version 1.9.1.6
PHP 5.3
MySQL 5.5.31

Any suggestions?

Best,
Sandra

Hi again,

now this is getting urgent :(

Is there any way to get JDownloads Version 1.9.1? Looks like we need to downgrade from 1.9.1.6.

We're still not able to access the "New download" option.

Regards
Sandra

Hi Sandra,
when you are a new jDownloads beginner, you should install the new series 2.5 from here:
http://www.jdownloads.com/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&Itemid=133&view=view.download&catid=33&cid=336
It is an official beta but nearly a stable release.  ;)

The older series are only for users which have some special jD plugins and modules installed. Not all of them are currently usable in a newer series. But also this users should update to the new series in the next months.

Read the documentation when you need more informations.

When you will read hints for your problem with your older jD series, you can find this here:
http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/how-can-i-display-php-errors
or here:
http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/what-can-i-do-when-i-see-only-a-broken-page-in-joomla-backend
A solution can also be to deactivate the usage from wysiwyg editor for text fields. See jD configuration TAB 'Backend'.
