Layouts header not working [Fixed in 2.5.19]
« on: 07.08.2014 13:01:26 »
Hi,

Joomla! 2.5.24
JDownloads 2.5.11 Beta

It seems that there are bugs in the Layouts section

For search, overview downloads, categories overview it seems to work
For subcats and downloads the header include function dont seem to work.

see example here
http://anstiftung-ertomis.de/downloads

header should look like the cats overview all over the place.
Even removing the head layout completly doesnt make any effect.

The underneath head layout and footer layout is working properly all over the place.

Also i am interested in showing tags like
{thumbnail} {file_title} {url_download}

in the subcat layout. I know this is not possible by default.
But any hints how this can be done are very much appreciated  :o

Hi
Not quite sure I understand but are you referring to the point that the style of the link changes as shown in the attached pictures? And that you would like to see them in the same style?  If what follows is not what you are looking at then please advise what what actual default templates you are using.

Note that the Layouts control what is 'laid' out where, they do not control the style.

If  your query is the different styles, then the answer is that the styles are dependent upon you template css  For instance
in LayoutsHeader01 pic the title link uses the style in your template.css line 1998,
in LayoutsHeader02 pic the title link uses the style in your template.css line 493,
in LayoutsHeader03 pic the title link uses the style in your template.css line 2023.

to  set the styles to a common style you will probably need to include css something like
.jd_item_page td a:link,
.jd_download_url td a:link {
   contents of your template.css around line 1998 say
}
You may well need  !important in some css lines to override those in template.css   Some templates have a custom.css specifically for such purposes. Or you could add to jdownloads_fe.css which you can edit on the Layouts control page in the css section. (need to re-add on new updates).

Hi Colin,

this is actually not what i am looking for.
You are talking about CSS styling, i talking about a bug

And its easy to reproduce. If you are going to an active layout and remove or add sth from the code. The changes should get visible in the frontend, but they dont.
Even if you strip out the code completly, you stll see the icons/navigation at the top.

For search, overview downloads, categories overview it seems to work
For subcats and downloads the header include function dont seem to work.

the component was updated from 1.9.15 to 2.5.x

Hi
Having eliminated the styling I retested.

What I now understand you want to do is to remove the  'Navigation' and the 'Summary' from the top so you just see the categories or the downloads themselves. In layouts the Navigation is controlled by the Header Section of the currently activated Layout and the Summary is controlled by the Sub-Heading of the currently activated layout.
There appears to be a bug with the Category layout.

In List all Categories the top level categories are shown using the currently activated Categories Layout.
In subsequent sub categories and any down loads the view is controlled by the currently activated Category Layout.  But the sub-header used is the one in the Files Layout which is illogical - to me this is a bug :( as it seems to me that it should be controlled by the sub header in the Category Layout.  There may of course be some subtle reason for this as the code goes to some lengths to get both layouts. :-\  If it is to remain this way then it needs a better explanation!

In Single Category it is the currently activated Category layout, which has the problem as above. :(
In List All Downloads it is the currently activated Files Layout.
In Search it is the  currently activated Search Layout
In Single Download it is the  currently activated Download Details Layout

You can solve your immediate problem by ensuring the currently activated Files Layout has the sub-header commented out.

Hi Guys,
i know that the new layout structure is not so easy. But i have not found a other way to remain compatible with the previously used system.

I will test this in the next days, but i am currently very busy.  :-\

You should use it in the 'files' layout.

For me the new layouts are better. :)  The only layouts that appear to be 'irregular' are those in the Category class.

Not sure of all the implications but as a suggestion the behavior could be controlled by an extra parameter such as "layouts 1.9.x style" with default No in the Category Layouts setup.   The "1.9.x style" would be as present.  The new layouts style would on use the sub-heading from its own layout and not across from another layout in a different class.  If this was to happen I would write an explanatory article.  Think this would be a 'clean' way of moving forward.

@tulski

Think this is the same problem as in "Show subcat description - [Fixed in 3.2.19!!!]"  http://www.jdownloads.com/forum/index.php?topic=7657.0

So I have marked this one as solved as well but left topic open.
