User Groups: Sorting function possible?
« on: 28.07.2014 14:03:54 »
Hi all,

is there a possibility to resort the User Groups just like you can sort the order of categories and downloads?

This function would be very helpful for us to sort relates groups in the backend  :)

Best,
Sandra

Not quite sure I understand.  The User Group Settings are arranged in relationship to which user group just as permissions are shown.  Part of this is the 'indentation'.  So are you suggesting being able to click on say the Ranking column heading to sort by ranking, and on another occasion to sort by say 'Weekly upload limit'?

Hi Colin,

I'm sorry.. It's a bit difficult for me to explain it the right way in English ;-)

As you can see in my screenshot one can change the order of downloads (and Categories have this function, too). Now, when I look at my User Groups of jDownloads in the backend of Joomla, they are sorted by their ID. I would like to sort them by name for example or (if possible) with this sorting function.

Hope this helps :-)
Best,
Sandra

Whoops! Have just realised that you are using jDownloads 1.9 series - so I am not surprised you did not understand my response.

At the moment all effort, apart from bugs, is going into the new jDownloads j2.5 and j3.2 series.  These have Joomla user group support, and a facility called User Group Settings.  I do not think Arno will be extending the 1.9.x series as the new series represents the future directions.  They have many enhancements over the older 1.9.x series.  Please see http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations

Do you have a test site to try out things?
