I am not sure that this is useful for me. It is not easy to handle this.
A better solution is to publish only the language files in the download area.  ::)

ok, sorry.
What i have to do (i have no permission to submit file, i'm only registered in forum and transifex)?
before i make another mistake, i will collect language files in folder like this:

it-IT.mod_jdownloads_last_updated.zip
and
it-IT.jdownloads_content_plugin.zip

if the modules or plugin have a language folder, i will have the following path:
it-IT.plg_editors-xtd_jdownloads.zip>>it-IT
which means that the zip file contains an "it-IT" folder with .ini files inside.
Is it correct? I'm sorry, even if i belive in open-source projects, i'm not very expert.

Hello,
i have you added to the translation team, so you have access to internal forums categories.  ;)

I think it is the best for additional module and plugins translations to create a new download subcategoy like this also for Joomla 2.5:
http://www.jdownloads.com/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&Itemid=133&view=viewcategory&catid=29

So can anybody download what he need.

I think we can do it so with a short info, where the unzipped files must be copied.

Post here the zip files, then i can add this files to the download area.
Thanks for your help.  8)

Thank you
yes, i think that creating a subcategory for modules and plugin translation like in j1.5 is useful and a very intuitive way to find files (there's a good component for this  ;D )

I created the archive files and added to each one a personalized (or "costumized" if it can be said) README.txt file in which ones i explain simple instructions.

readme files sounds like this:

Unzip the archive file, then copy language files to main plugin/module folder (name of the folder in brackets) on your server.

For plugin with language(s) folder, i just specified:

Unzip the archive file, then copy "it-IT" folder into "language(s)" folder of the plugin/module on your server.
The full path should be something like: ... (complete path)...

All files in attachments, hope it's useful. bye  ;)

the italian language files are in the jD installtion file included.
So you must only install jD again, after you has installed the italian joomla language pack.

Dear Arno,
Another user, in the italian Joomla Community joomla.it, reported an issue like jcafè.
I suggested the message you post right here, ie to install JD again. This doesn't work for him, and in language files, he
reported this error:
The Language-file is:  NOT writable!
The file must be writable to save new settings. May be you have to change the rights on the file to CHMOD 0755. Content of the Language-file: /home/xfqzvwbi/public_html/language/it-IT/it-IT.com_jdownloads.ini

I suggested him/her to change settings on CHMOD, i think it will go OK, anyway i was asking myself: something gone wrong in translation file? Maybe encoding settings and stuff like that?
Thank You ;)

Hi,
it seems that i must check self the italian language package.
Fact is, that this files comes not from me but from the translators. And i hope that all translators tested it before it sends me.

The chmod problem is not really a jDownloads problem. Every server has different settings.
Some needs 0755 and other 0777. jD tried to set the chmod by installation. But not always is this possible.
So you must open the file in the layout manager. Then can you seen whether it is writable. See pic.
