I have multiple download lists on a single website. But they should use different layouts. These layouts differs by the selection of values that are shown and with a different html representation.
How can I define whitch layout should be used? Either by the download list instance (Menu item) or the category?
I've only found the possibility to define a single layout for the whole website.
Thanks.

Hi
At the moment one can only select layouts bye the type of display That is single category layout uses the Category layout but if there are any downloads then the relevant part of the active Files layout is used.
The basic concept is that the displays should look the same

In any of the menu items you can of course add a class name (put space before name fo a separate class).  This could be used with extra css to give a different background or similar.
But is what you are seeking that in the Information section you would like to show different information?  In the picture attached, which is using a compact layout, there are some items which have no info in them so only the title shows.  Have been thinking of an option that only shows the title if there is info available.  WEould that meet your needs?

Hello Colin
Thank you for your reply.
I think the possibility to customize it by CSS would work. I could suppress all the data, that is not needed by hiding it. Not a nice solution, but it would work.
The needed download lists are as follows. So it's a little bit more than just hiding the title if it's empty:
1. A list of flyers with the following information:
 - A preview picture
 - A download link to a PDF file.
 - A title
 - A date for the event of the flyer.
2. A list of documents to download
 - title
 - download link
 - description
 - The last update date.

The best solution would be, if it would be possible to define a layout for a category. To overwrite the default layout. But as I understand, the concept works in a different way.

Best regards
Andreas

Andreas,
Following your reply I have now thought of a simpler solution.  Clearly Each of your main Downloads are very customised. So the best way would be to add it into the Description part of the Category.  Please see simple example in attached pic

To do this there are quite a few things to set up but I did not want to go into such detail if it is not what you want

Hello Colin

The link

does the trick. With this guide I can exactly do what I've been looking for. I present the data in an article and define the layout in the article code.
Thank you very much!
