Hi - I searched for hours (if not days) for a solution  :P

I am able by now to create direct downloads by "{jd_file file==18}" but how can I make a link to any text that directly downloads that file?
Thanks Stefan

Hi
I presume you are wanting to put a direct download link in an article.
If you are please look at
http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/using-the-content-plugin-in-articles-and-modules
Either way please let us know

Hi Colin,
I was already at this stage but thanks anyhow.

The problem that I have is, that I want any text to be able to contain the link to the file.
Thanks

Stefan
At this moment in time I do not think it is feasible.  So I have made a Suggestion

Colin,
That sounds a little bit better than what I had so far!
Do I understand your post right that you made a feature request for a layout with a download button? I searched the internet and found a plugin like that only from Phoca and that will probably not fit for jDownloads, right?

Cheers

Stefan,
Would you like a layout which just had a Download Button?  One can style the button with CSS in the jdownloads_custom.css file if the standard versions are not suitable.

The sugestion is if you highlight text such as 'Click here' then that text would appear with the default link colour and clicking on it would initiate the dowloading sequence.

Colin,
I did modify the layout accordingly and it is what I needed. Thanks for showing me the way!
