Email notification by Upload Monitoring feature

I use the possibility to send email notifications when a user uploads a file via the Frontend and know that this functionality does not work when uploading via de backend.
However, it would be a nice feature if this notification email is send when the upload monitoring function detects a new file in the download directory, specially when it's set to automatic publication.
Can this be achieved somehow?

Do not think this is simple within jD.
Perhaps a way to do this is to turn off automatic monitoring and use a Cron job to periodically do the monitoring.

For most cronjobs there is a facility to generate an email when there is some output.  It will basically just be a notice that something has happened.
