News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Have been hoping that with each update this issue would be resolved - the issue is that only Superuser can upload and we'd like the Admin user to upload.  The problem began with v3.2.24 beta and we haven't been able to resolve on our end yet. Please help, it's causing a big problem for us and thanks so much!  (screenshot of error attached)

Hi
What user groups have you set up?  Have you set Upload Permissions and Access levels?  You may find the following useful:

Controlled Access to Categories and Downloads (Permissions & Access Levels)
http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/controlled-access-to-categories-and-downloads

"Introduction to User Group Settings" particularly the last part.
http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/introduction-to-user-group-settings

"Which User-Group is Used?"
http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/which-user-group-is-used?category_id=29

Prior to jD 3.2.24 jD did not correctly cascade the permissions and in effect only used the Component permissions.
Have you set a Deny permissions in any category?

To check out then I suggest you also use the permissions examination tool "Show Permissions Overview"
http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/show-permissions-overview
and you may need  "Turn On Joomla! debug"  http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/turn-on-joomla-debug

Thank you for your reply and for the links but unfortunately, it's just not working for me.  I can't seem to get the settings right.  The upload settings still only work for the SuperUser group.  It's not good, giving way too much access and I need to get this corrected asap. Can you please have a look and explain what's going wrong? Thank you in advance for your help and please advise how to provide access info to you ??? ???

Hi
I have sent you a Private Message (PM) requesting details. The PMs are initiated by the 'squarish' button below the Name/Picture on the left - hint as you put cursor over.

Please put here the way you want to have your site organised as regard to jDownloads.  That is what user group do you want to be able to download and what user group do you want to be able to create/edit Downloads from front end.  Keep scheme simple at first so you can understand, can be made more complex later if needed.
