created_by_value => real name instead of username

Hi Arno

First of all "Thank you very much for this great Document  Management extension!!!"

I have installed the component and the jDownloads Content Plugin Version:2.0.6 since I need a page where Login Members can view the latest uploaded documents and the latest updated documents. Therefore I have chosen the "simple list" to display this information on an extra page. In the backend I have adjusted the template for simple list as following:

Name | {created_date_title}   | {created_by_title} | {modified_date_title} | {modified_by_title} (of cours on the second (value)line I have made the apropriate adjustments)

Now, what I would like to change in the value-fields is to display the "real names" of the community-member who has uploaded and/or changed/updated a document instead of "username". All members know each other by name, that's why the real name makes more sense here. How and where can I change this name settings? And is it further possible to indicate in this simple list the name (not id) of the category the file is in?

PS: a question regarding the extension developement: will there be a feature in the near future which allows to email periodicaly (once a week or month) a list with all new uploaded and updated files to certain members (emails)?

It's now 3 weeks ago I have posted my question. Since I haven't got any answer yet I wonder if I have asked in a wrong maner or if I have not indicated everything you need to know or even if my question is not understandable. Let me know what I can do / improve.

sorry for my last reply but it seems i have not seen your first post.

You must change the siource code for it. When you will do it, i will search what you must do.

PS: a question regarding the extension developement: will there be a feature in the near future which allows to email periodicaly (once a week or month) a list with all new uploaded and updated files to certain members (emails)?

A new option/function is not planned for this current for jD 2.0.

Sorry  for my late response, I was in holiday and had exames. Now I'm back. Thank you for helping me to change the source code to get the real names instead of usernames in the jdownloads_content_plugin! I am currently using Joomla 1.7.4, jdownloads_1.9.0_stable_909 and the jdownloads_content_plugin_2.0.6. In which files and on what lines do I have to make the changes?

I am currently using Joomla 1.7.4, jdownloads_1.9.0_stable_909 and the jdownloads_content_plugin_2.0.6. In which files and on what lines do I have to make the changes?

It is recommended that you make first a update to the last Joomla 2.5.x release and also to the jD version build 925.

When you has done this, i will send your the info to change it.

There is one thing left I can not understand in jdownloads_content_plugin_2.0.6: only users with "administrator" rights and above are able to see the listed files, everybody below this access level can only see the title. I tried every possible setting to give the view access also to users with "registered" rights, but I couldn't find a solution. Do you have an idea how I can change this?

- this syntax viewed not the 'last Updated Files' but the latest/newest files. This is not the same.
- when a normal user can not seen this files in the list, then he has not the permissions to see this. Check your category access rights.
