I have recently installed jDownloads along with the plugin to attach to articles. Because the { mp3_player } tag refused to work, I created a layout with ONLY that tag. I then created an article with ONLY the following:
Code:
{ jd_file onlinelayout==Test}{jd_file category==1 count==0 }

Upon viewing the article, the player did not appear. Other tags, except the { mp3_id3_tag } seem to work fine. But using the MP3 player is important to me.
  • I am using Joomla! 1.5 in a LAMP / Plesk environment
  • The player .swf file is in the /component/jDownloads folder.
  • The .htaccess file has been placed in the writeable uploads directory.
  • Again, the component seems to function properly, other than the two aforementioned mp3 tags.

When inspecting the HTML source code, the article outputs nothing at all; no Adobe Flash coding is found. Can anyone explain what I am doing wrong? I have attached an image to illustrate what I've done to test the player.

Thanks.

I also noticed that in JDownloads > Configuration > Audio, it states the following:
Important: When you will use the player, the placeholder { mp3_player } must exist in the activated jDownloads layout (files or details layout)! Also you must set off the .htaccess option (TAB: Security)!

I was not sure what this meant, but I interpreted it as:
Important: To use the built-in MP3 player, include the { mp3_player } tag in your layout. You will also need to select the Security tab above to change the "Protecting your Download-directory?" option to Yes.

So I went to JDownloads > Configuration > Security and changed the first option, "Protecting your Download-directory?", to Yes. However, there were instructions to the right of this option that stated:
If YES, the htaccess.txt file will be copied in your download root-directory and renamed in .htaccess. Now the protection is activated and all external file and subdirectory accesses are blocked.
Important: When you will use the MP3-Player, or you have deactivated the option: Send downloads over PHP Script you must set off this protection!

Again, I was not sure, but I interpreted this as:
Important: If you plan to use the MP3 Player, or if you decide to select "No", the Send downloads over PHP Script must be set to Yes.

However, I do not see the Send downloads over PHP Script option in any of the tabs. I've attached an image showing the Audio and Security tabs to illustrate my current settings.

Thanks!

Hi Toneee,
sad to say, but the content plugin supported until today not the mp3 tag. This works only in the component output.
So it is not possible to use it in a article.

About the english translation:
- in the last releases i must write it self. But my english is not the best.  Undecided
- the description soll say, that the option must set to OFF - not to ON. But you can test it with both options settings. On some servers works it also with .htaccess protection.

I have seen your PM and i will your answer tomorrow. But any help is very welcome.  Cool Cheesy Wink

Oh okay. So I'm not insane after all! The component does not support the MP3 player. I will use the module instead. Smiley

I will await the PM response also. Thanks again for the prompt support!
