News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hello to all

I'm just discovering the jDownload extension and I'm testing different features.
I have created users belonging to groups and corresponding access rights.
I have given upload rights for some documents and this seems to work well.
Sending emails is a very good thing but I would like to avoid that new documents are by default set to "disabled". I'd like them to be published automatically by default (while keeping the emailing).
Is this possible? A setting somewhere?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Jean-Marie

Hi
The simple answer is Yes.
For the Frontend I understand you have created a User Group (UG) that is able to create/edit Downloads.
In Usergroups - Group Creation/Editing Settings tab there is an option 'Publish New Downloads' which needs to be set to Yes.
In the doumentation set on Access & User Group settings probably a good place to start is:https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation-for-v3-9/access-user-group-permissions-v3-9/user-groups-settings-overview-2
But see also the article about ranking level that solves the one to many problem about which UG settings will take precedencehttps://www.jdownloads.net/documentation-for-v3-9/access-user-group-permissions-v3-9/which-user-group-is-used
For the Backend it depends on which way the Downloads are created.  If you say upload one or more files with say an FTP to a specific jD Category (directory) and use the 'Check Download Area' on the main jD Control Panel you first need to look at the settings in the jD Options 'Monitoring Tab'. One of the options is 'Automatically publish new found Items'.  Further down there are facilities to use 'Extra Settings'. for more info see the articlehttps://www.jdownloads.net/documentation-for-v3-9/options-configuration-v3-9/monitoring-options-and-checking-the-download-area
The Files Option is another way of creating Downloads.  This allows uploading several files and then making them into Downloads individually.  The default case here is Published.  Personally I find the Files route less useful - it was the first 'bulk' upload available in jD.
Best wishesColinPS if you wish to see the documentation in French the on the main Documentation page select French in the translations pulldown at top right.  The translations are done by Google!
