Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi,

can someone tell me how to change 'scan.php' file so thumb is regenerated if file size has changed?

As name remains the same on file updates, file size is a good hint to tell that fila ha changed somehow and thumb should be regenerated. At least, for PDF files.

Thanks.

Hi
If you want to reset the default size of ALL  thumbnails then use the Remake all Thumbnails in jD Options - Pictures & Buttons tab

But I would suggest a better solution is to use in jD Options - Pictures & Buttons tab, the 'option 'How long is a Download UPDATED'

This will give a 'button' showing it is updated but you do need to also set the 'Mark Download as Updated' field in the updating process - this is to distinguish a say a minor correction to the Description as opposed to a real update such as a new file.

Hi ColinM thanks,
