Different layout for different category?

Hi Devs!

Is it possible to give different layout (ex, two or three columns, etc) for each categories?



I've not find any documentation about this. Many Thanks!  Davide

Not sure if I understand!In jD3.9 there are Categories layouts which are only used for top level categories.  There are single and multi column versions. When displaying Subcategories the activated layout in the subcategoies type is used  - again there are single and multi column versions.  Also there are several choices in the Downloads layouts. But in all casses there is only one activated layout from ech type.

The reason for only one activated layout from a section is to give users a consistency.

Thanks Colin, it seems you have well understand. I don't know what to say, I am very sorry that the webmaster was not given the choice. The situations are manifold and invoking consistency in these cases seems almost .. incoherent :-D    Thanks!    Davide
