Batch import downloads with more detailed features

Hi,

I have read the forum and it seems that the only option for batch download is to transfer the files and initiate the check now buttom which creates the categories and files (same title as file name).

The extension is great but it would be great to have a way of importing many other parts such as different title, tags, desciption, etc. Maybe the best way is through a excel file import.

The second suggestion is for external file types, there could be an option that the external file can be automatically downloaded into the joomla server rather than reading the file always from external server.

Thanks for suggestion. It seems before my time working with jD there was an xml file method that can be associated with an upload giving various specific details but not sure it works now!!  One aspect about having an 'associated info file' is to ensure it is simpler than just editing the info directly into the Download.  The advantage of a info file is that its contents could be used multiple times with things common to many separate Downloads.  Another thought is to use it as a way presetting some fields

Presently we are working in preparation for the upcoming Joomla! 4 and using the Joomla Custom Fields.  When those are 'sorted' a significant review of user suggestions would be in order.

Hi Cilin,

Exactly right, file import export feature will reduce lots of time for people who have many downloads and want to put enough detail. Hopefully this will come soon, overall excellent extension.
