Title: Error after save: Not Acceptable (SOLVED)
Post by: rumen on 06.07.2021 14:07:05
Hello I have jDownloads Version 3.2.69

and  Joomla! 3.8.5. When I create new file download and put in field, that the file is with external URL, when I save, there is error:
QuoteNot Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource could not be found on this server.
. If I didn't put external URL for download, there is no error and the file is saved. Any help? Thanks

HiThe External file link is used where you have the Downloadable file on say in the cloud such as Drop Box, or on another server.  Typically on a different website to the one where your Joomla is presently located.
If you are uploading from your local device to your current website then the downloadable file is is not  at  an external location.
You only need to select one location of the the downloadable file.
For more info on using an external site please see the article in the link below

https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation-for-jd3-2/general-items-v3-2/downloads-with-an-external-file
Most sites store the downloadable file on their current server - it is then an 'internal' file
Hope I have understood your question correctly - if not please let me know

Hi,
Nope, I didn't upload from local machine. I have put external link, for example: http://site.com/downloads.php?cat_id=33 and the error is showing. If I use google drive share link - there is no error.
Thanks

Hi
If you are uploading a file and use the 'Select file for uploading' and click on the Browse button it will upload a file you select from your local device - this could be called a 'Download with an internal file'
jD forms the link appropriately.
If you are using that form of link  in the External or Mirror links then it will not work!

An external link would,  as you noted, be an explicilt link to a Google drive or similar
There are three 'internal' link possibilities:
Select File for uploading or Select for Existing Download or Select File from Root area. For these jD generates the link automatically.

Ignoring the mirror sites there is only one 'external link'.
For this you need to specify the actual remote location address of the downloadable file.
The Mirror sites are also ana type of Extrenal link but generally used to give alternatives for the same downloadable file.
