Title: 3.9.5 and embedding in articles
Post by: Dimi2020 on 14.09.2020 20:27:36
Joomla 3.9.21
Jdownloads 3.9.5

Hi Everybody,
For those of you who have upgraded or installed v. 3.9.5, have you been successful in embedding {jd_file file==xx} in an article in order to get a download? I've tried both upgrading from 3.6.9 and uninstalling and doing a clean install without any success concerning embedding. In essence, there's a
?Itemid=101 appended at the end of every link which is Joomla's way of saying it's an unknown link, and it simply returns you to the homepage.

All the components have been enabled/permissions set, and when you click on to download the file under Downloads in the extension it downloads fine. But, embedded in an article, nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated even if it means I have to wait for an update.

Thank you for your time.

Hi Dimi,
normally it should work as expected. See this also in our demo installation:
https://www.jdownloads.org/plugin-examples.html

I have no idea what you have tried and what are your settings in detail.
So it is nearly impossible to find it out without a backend access.  :-\

But the Itemid at the end could be a hint in the right direction. Are you sure that you have created for jDownloads a menu item? It should be as base always exist one from the type 'All Categories'. It is not required to make it on the frontend visible. But It should exist and also published. See also the documentation:
