Thank you for a great product (jDownloads). It works really well & love it. I am a DJ and consistently putting out promo mixes for people to download and I have a ton of downloads, I do ask people to please subscribe to my mailing list, however I find that 5% of the users do submit their email address. So in short - I want to start forcing users to enter their email address or like our facebook page before the download button appears. Is this possible with jDownloads?

This is in the next major release of jD! The beta version is expected to become available for testing after Christmas.
Basically you will be able to request that a form is filled in prior to download, and one of the fields available is an email address. The form may be made mandatory. It is selectable by user group.

We are starting Beta testing. Currently delayed a bit by the new Joomla! router which is a bit complicated.So I cannot give a date better than 'As soon as we can'. It is limited by the number of users who volunteer for beta testing.
It is like the question how long is a piece of string? The answer to which is twice as long as half of it!!!

No problem I do understand... sorry I wish I could assist you with beta testing, however I am not a developer - built my website using tutorials from you tube,
so in-between my day job & my side hustle I work on my website, really pressed for time. Appricate all your work ans assistance - will wait for you guys patiently 8)
HiActually it does not need any developer skills just to try things out!!
Should you find time later then using XAMMP on your local PC is a good and safe way to do things. So I have attached a long tutorial on creating a test site on your local PCColin
